Moon 5

Shutter Mode: f/6.8, 1/160, EV -2, ISO 100

Full moon is tomorrow night, so I keep practicing. This was taken at 6:17 with still some blue in the sky, but background still looks black.

I tried some early evening pictures with very light blue sky, but those didn't work at all. Not enough contrast between moon and sky to get anything good. Here's the best of a bad bunch:

Moon 4

Shutter Mode: f/7.3, 1/125, EV -2, ISO 100

This was taken at 6:08, so a few minutes earlier than the last one. Bluer sky so f-stop was higher, and there is the slightest hint of blue in the background compared to previous photos (6.8) which I think gives it a bit more dimension. I'm definitely starting to see what they mean about the full moon looking "flat" compared to a partial moon where you can see more craters.

Full moon is two days from now at 5:48 p.m.

Moon 3

Shutter Mode: f/6.8, 1/125, EV -2, ISO 100

Moon continuing to grow, and I'm getting really good views now of Tycho (bottom) and Copernicus (left) craters! Still a slightly blue sky when I took this one at 6:23.

Moon 2

Shutter Mode: f/6.8, 1/80, EV -2, ISO 100

1/12/2022

Increased shutter speed from 1/100 two days ago; seeing less crater definition as it waxes. Copernicus crater upper center.

Circles

Tapping this one into Lightbox Photo Challenge for circles. It's not a full circle in the picture, but I think it still counts!
